Located at Hidalgo 200, 2 blocks south of International Bridge No. 1 on the main street, the air conditioned Corona Club includes an outside patio with a dance floor, and a balcony above the bar on the outside creating additional space for music lovers. Moviegoers know the club, which was used as a location in the films El Mariachi and Desperado.

Is The Corona Club air conditioned?
Yes. The club also has a large outdoor patio area with a dance floor. Concerts are held outside in the patio area. Large screens show the concert for those who want to remain inside. The air conditioned area holds around 400.

The Corona Club has a capacity of 1,800.

What is The Corona Club like?
The Corona Club is a well-established business with a good reputation. The facility, which includes a restaurant, an antique wooden bar, Western paintings and an outdoor patio area with a dance floor, was featured as a location in the films El Mariachi and Desperado. A patron writes, "Just wanted to let you all know, we have been going to The Corona Club faithfully for the past six years, and have enjoyed the atmosphere, the bartenders like Augustein and his brothers have been very nice to me and all the people we have brought to your establishment. I rarely see male bartenders be that courteous to everybody. But they play no favorites! So just wanted to let you know they are doing you a good job! Please tell them they are doing a very good job!!"

What activities are there to do when not at a concert?
The towns along the Rio Grande have a south-of-the-border flavor: Bright colors and Mexican food are favorites. With crystal blue skies, clean air and an average year-round temperature of 80 degrees, the area offers shopping, golfing as well as fishing, camping, boating, skiing and windsurfing at Lake Amistad. The Whitehead Memorial Museum and the Val Verde Winery are located in Del Rio.

What do I need to cross the international border?
Passports are not required until June 2, 2009. Proof of identification. Drivers license. Although you may not be asked for anything, it is always best to be safe. Do not joke about your citizenship upon entering Mexico or the United States. All jokes are taken seriously, and you can be detained for hours by doing so. If you are licensed to carry firearms, leave weapons and ammunition in the United States. Do NOT take guns or ammunition into Mexico. You could lose your vehicle, be fined and/or spend time in jail in Mexico.

Is there taxi service between the Texas/U.S. border and Mexico?
Taxicabs run on both sides of the international border. The cost is $10 each way.
